Socrates và Alcibiades

“Tại sao tỏ lòng kính trọng, Socrates cao quý, với chàng
        Trai này, luôn luôn? ngài chẳng biết những điều lớn hơn?
                Tại sao, với tình yêu, như nhìn
                        Lên các vị thần, mắt ngài lên hắn?”

Ai nghĩ những điều sâu nhất yêu những gì sống nhất,
        Ai nhìn thế giới sẽ hiểu được cái phơi phới tuổi xuân,
                Và cuối cùng những kẻ khôn ngoan
                        Sẽ thường xuyên nghiêng mình vào cái đẹp.
